Background
I worked for a brief while as a journalist after finishing the B.A in Journalism at Stockholm University in the early 2000s but my fascination for computers and graphics won and I changed path. I worked with website design, logos, branding and marketing. Learned both 2D and 3D animation geared toward the game industry. Worked as a technical writer at Volvo IT before my body burned out in 2009 due to Ehlers Danlos syndrome.
Limited by fatigue I started approaching life and art differently. I moved back north and reconnected with my Tornedalian roots by the arctic circle. I learned shoemaking. I unexpectedly moved to Canada at the end of 2015 and came back briefly to Sweden in 2016 to finish the shoemaker diploma. Became a mom after a few years in Canada.
For the past 4 years, I’ve explored what life and art look like when you’re actively falling madly in love with yourself. How do you tell a story? And how do I combine the things I love – tech, art and handicraft?
I’m fascinated by systems and the balance between the internal and external world and how to tell the whole story – black, white, greyscale and colour. I tend to document my findings as art, memes, comic strips and stories.
