Community Seed Swap

it was a great afternoon of looking through seeds, adopting seedlings, checking out books and making art!

The idea for this community Seed Swap event came to be when it was time for Camrose Association For Community Livings, CAFCL Garden Club to plan their garden for the season. They had piles of some seed while they didn’t have any of a few others.

Camrose Library loved the idea of a community seed swap and they made sure the visitors could look through all kinds of garden related books.

Camrose Arts Society loved the idea too – so many of our artists also gardens!

Visitors could pick an origami bouquet of flowers.

They got to learn about fiber art from Camrose Arts Society member Kasandra Trahan

They got to try coffee painting with Camrose Arts Society Executive Director Jess Hughes (who also made the origami bouquets!!)

They also got to make a Mothers Day card in watercolour with Camrose Arts Society Communications & marketing manager Elin Laaksonen. She had also put together a still life they could paint.

There was sensory bins for the youngest ones and it was a day of belly laughs and great gardening tips. Can’t wait for next year!
