Connecting the Arts
My name is Helen, I am a retired from business full time artist, and I paint in oils and acrylics. I’m a member of the Canadian Federation of Artists, and Artists for Conservation, and am new to Camrose, moved here from Grande Prairie, Alberta.
I’ve always had an interest in art, and tried my hand at painting many times over the decades. In January 2017 after doing a Bob Ross tutorial, it became my passion and replaced all my other interests and hobbies. Catching the light on a subject, and the way it affects the colours when combined with shadows intrigues me and I need to capture it.
I love the blendability and potential to realism that oil painting gives me, so I do several every year in oil. But I Also enjoy painting in acrylics, and probably most of my work ends up being in acrylic. There are many subjects I yet want to delve into painting, but fruit, Foliage, landscapes and animals have been my focus thus far.
