she/her

Being creative goes beyond the final results; it is a journey that starts from a place of passionate curiosity. For me creativity comes in an endless number of forms, and as such a painting can arise from paints, clay, or even coffee.

My biggest inspiration comes from wildlife and untamed landscapes. I'm often intrigued by the intensity of the planet, and am fascinated by its biodiversity.
My passion for art has been with me all my life. From a young age, I used to enjoy drawing the family dog and the birds that would gather in the backyard. I also used to study cartoons and would try to imitate them as I ate my cereal in the living room on Saturday mornings.
Not much has changed since then, except that I now tend to wander around with a pencil in hand. My sketchbooks are now a way to collect small moments, and abstract ideas to take home and flesh out into larger, more intricate ideas.
I am inspired by surrealist painters, and have always been pulled towards cerebral works that incorporate landscape and wildlife themes. My current style has evolved over many years. It's been formed by years of study, and experimentation with many different styles and mediums. My artistic choice to blend animals into environments where they don't naturally occur is a discussion about the changing climate and the importance of biodiversity.
